A Thanksgiving Prayer

OLEH ZHAKUNETS
Colossians 2:6-7
Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.

Our Gracious Father,

We see in your Word that gratitude is not an optional for the Christian. Instead, thanksgiving is an identifying marker of a true believer, one who walks in Christ Jesus the Lord. Our thanksgiving prayer is that you make us disciples who are overflowing with gratitude. May this be especially true during difficult years and seasons.

We are grateful for this last year. You have kept many of us safe from harm and disease, you have kept many of us employed, but most importantly you have kept ALL of your children in the loving grip of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

This year instead of seeing church decline, we have seen growth. This year instead of division, we have seen unity. This year instead of being complacent, we have been more on mission than ever before. We are grateful for how you have used the difficulties of the last season to bless our church body.

In our individual lives help us to see your grace and provision that our enemy often hides from our faces. Help us to see the blessings of marriage, children, friendships, work, hobbies, education, small groups, accountability, spiritual disciplines, and Sunday worship. In all circumstances give us the grace to be grateful.

In Jesus' name we pray. Amen
